It hadn’t been a good day.
Louise took the chocolates from the top cupboard. Usually there wasn’t so much up there, but this was a new box. She took them up to her room.
A few hours later, her mum was fussing and flapping. “Do you remember where I put the box of Miniature Heroes for Mrs Stone? I’ve got to go soon, if I don’t find them I’ll have to get something cheap on the way!”
Louise looked at her bed. The empty box was at one end, the wrappers strewn across it. Her room was a battlefield, but the heroes had won. They had rescued her.
